BLT Sandwiches with Baked Bacon

August 27, 2020

I love tomatoes! But fresh tomatoes in the summer are my absolute favorite! When you see a big, red and juicy tomato, what do you think of? I crave a classic BLT sandwich right away. And I mean a BLT done the right way! I am going "all in" and am having it on lightly toasted white bread with iceberg lettuce.

I have 3 teenage boys who seem to eat more than I can keep up with. When we make BLTs we have to make a TON of bacon! The best way to do this is by baking it! Now I don't have to sit over a hot skillet and flip the bacon, while getting splattered with grease. Instead I can just stick the bacon in the oven and prep the sandwiches while it is baking. It is a game changer!

How to bake bacon for your BLT sandwiches:

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

  2. Line a sheet pan with foil or parchment paper. This makes clean-up a breeze!

  3. Place a cooling rack on top of the foil lined pan.

  4. Place the bacon, in a single layer, onto the cooling rack.

  5. Bake at 400 degrees for about 20 to 25 minutes, depending on how thick your bacon is.

  6. Line a plate with paper towels and place the cooked bacon onto the plate to absorb some of the grease.

Now it is time to make your BLT sandwiches!

You will love bacon cooked this way! It comes out perfectly every time!! And it couldn't be easier!
