Happy New Year's Eve! I am sitting here and am reflecting on our Christmas and our break together. I am counting my blessings. There is so much to be thankful for.
Last year was a different sort of Christmas. My husband and I were both in bed sick with Covid, with no energy or appetite at all. Christmas Eve dinner for our boys was pizza. Christmas breakfast leftover pizza. And then they had Chinese takeout for Christmas dinner. Since we don't eat out much, they were in heaven. But it just felt really off.
Since we missed out on all of the tastes and traditions of the Christmas season last year, we especially enjoyed each and every one this year! I am so thankful for a wonderful Christmas together and look forward to what the New Year will bring.
Santa came to our house! We open up those presents and then have some breakfast before opening the gifts under our tree.
I always love homemade gifts! They are my favorite. Look at this beautiful cheese board that my youngest made for me. I just love it!
After a day of relaxing, it's time to get ready for Christmas dinner. I forgot that the boys had put a basketball hoop up in the foyer(on the right). Too funny - guess I got used to it. This is why God has blessed me with three boys!
Do you spot the basketball hoop?! Too funny!
The table is set and we were so excited to have our traditional Christmas dinner this year.
After missing out on Christmas traditions last year, we all were incredibly thankful for a healthy and fun Christmas together this year.
We had standing rib roast, mashed potatoes, Yorkshire pudding with gravy and broccoli. After missing this dinner last year, it tasted so amazing! It's my favorite meal of the year!
I hope that everyone has been relaxing and enjoying this week! And I hope that you all have a wonderful New Year's Eve!
