A Manhattan cocktail is truly one of my most favorite cocktails! I always order one of these when we go out because I never make them at home. Ever. Until tonight. It is Friday night and I decided to change that and make a Manhattan for my "Friday Night Cocktail" at home, for the first time. What a treat! This is a perfect cocktail to sip on a cold winter night by the fire! Cheers to a wonderful weekend!
Classic Manhattan Cocktail
Ingredients:
1/2 oz. Sweet Vermouth
3 1/2 oz. Rye Whiskey (or any other Whiskey)
2 to 4 dashes Angostura Bitters
Ice
Cherry or two
Fill a mixing glass with ice.
Add the vermouth, whiskey and bitters to the glass and stir.
Strain into a chilled glass or pour contents over ice.
Garnish with a cherry. If you prefer it to be sweeter, you can also add a bit of cherry juice.
Honestly, it is such a treat to have my favorite cocktail in the comfort of my own home! A Manhattan is such a cozy cocktail to drink during these cold winter nights. The best part is the cherry! I hope that you all have a wonderful weekend!
