Cranberry Chutney

November 23, 2020

It is cranberry season!! I love cranberries and always load up my freezer with lots of cranberries this time of the year.

My favorite thing to make with them is Cranberry Chutney. The combination of cranberries, apples and spices are perfect together! And I love how versatile this Cranberry Chutney is! The ways to use it is endless...it is delicious on Thanksgiving turkey, as a spread on a sandwich, with cream cheese on crackers, poured over chicken or pork to bake in the oven, etc.

I love to make a lot of this Cranberry Chutney so that I can use it all year long! Plus it is a perfect homemade gift to give to your friends and family for Thanksgiving or Christmas! Since we can't be with the ones that we love this Thanksgiving, a gift made with love is the best kind!

Cranberry Chutney

Ingredients:

1 (12 oz.) bag of cranberries, washed and dried

2 1/2 cups of apples, diced

1/4 cup sugar

1/4 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup honey

1 cup water

3 tsp. cinnamon

1 tsp. ground ginger

  1. Put all of the ingredients into a saucepan.

  2. Cook over medium-high heat and bring to a boil, stirring constantly.

  3. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 25 to 30 minutes, until the chutney thickens.

  4. Allow to cool and transfer into a container until you are ready to use.

This Cranberry Chutney is perfect to make for Thanksgiving Day! I love it on my turkey! I love it with cream cheese, on crackers, as an appetizer! And it is delicious on turkey sandwiches too. This easy recipe is sure to become a Thanksgiving tradition!
