What a busy week! We had 7 lacrosse games in just 3 nights and a very touching Senior Night for my oldest son. It is weeks like this that I am thankful for easy and delicious crock pot meals like this...
One of my dearest friends introduced me to this amazing slow cooker meal and I am forever thankful for that! My family absolutely loves hot roast beef sandwiches! This simple recipe makes everyone happy and your house will smell amazing!
This Crock Pot Hot Roast Beef recipe is perfect for those hectic and busy days. Just pop it in the slow cooker and later that day, you have a delicious, home-cooked meal that everyone loves! And don't forget to serve this hot roast beef with Provolone cheese and horseradish on a deli roll! It is so delicious!!
Crock Pot Hot Roast Beef Sandwiches
Ingredients:
1 Chuck roast
Garlic Powder
Fresh cracked pepper
1 envelope of dry onion soup mix
1 bottle or can of beer (any type works great)
Hoagie rolls, sliced
Provolone cheese
Optional: Horseradish
Sprinkle all sides of the roast with garlic powder and lots of fresh cracked pepper.
Add the seasoned chuck roast to your crock pot.
In a bowl combine the bottle of beer with the onion soup mix and stir until combined.
Pour the onion soup and beer mixture over the roast.
Put the lid on the slow cooker and cook on low for 8 hours.
When the 8 hours are up, carefully take the roast out of the crock pot and place it on a plate.
Shred the roast with two forks and remove any large pieces of beef fat, if there are any.
Put the shredded roast back into the slow cooker and keep on the warm setting until you are ready to serve. Taste and see if you need to add any salt.
Serve on hoagie rolls with Provolone cheese and a bit of horseradish if you like a little bit of heat with your roast beef sandwich.
And if would like - spoon some of the delicious Au jus into a small bowl to dip your sandwich in. Such a delicious combination of flavors!
(Please note that smaller chuck roasts might only take 6 hours to cook.)
You will not believe how delicious this chuck roast is, cooked all day in the crock pot. The Au jus is just incredible! And I love the way that the Provolone cheese melts into the hot roast beef and horseradish. You will love it too!
