Do you have a recipe that only calls for half of an onion? Do not let that half go to waste! Instead, I dice up the other half and put it in a Ziploc bag to store in the freezer.
This way, the next time that you have a recipe that calls for half of an onion, you just have to grab it out of the freezer and use it! This makes cooking super easy and nothing is wasted!
