Healthy Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Bread (made with no oil or butter!)

October 26, 2021

This is the perfect treat for Halloween week! Bring on the pumpkins and everything pumpkin spiced! Total fall comfort flavors that I adore!

I love to make this Healthy Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Bread because you get two loaves out of just one can of pumpkin. And with the way that my three teenage boys are burning through food, this is huge! Plus your house smells amazing, as it bakes. And since there is no oil or fat, you know that your family is getting a nutritious breakfast, snack or even dessert.

It is so delicious and you will never even know that this pumpkin bread is healthy. It's a family favorite here! And it is so easy to make!

Healthy Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Bread

Ingredients:

15 oz. can of pumpkin

2 eggs

3/4 cup sugar

1 cup of applesauce

1 tsp vanilla extract

2 tsp pumpkin spice seasoning (can substitute cinnamon)

2 cups flour

1/2 tsp kosher salt

2 tsp baking powder

1/2 tsp baking soda

1 cup of chocolate chips (or more)

  1. Mix together the pumpkin, eggs, sugar, applesauce and vanilla in a large bowl.

  2. In a separate bowl, stir together the flour, pumpkin spice, salt, baking powder and baking soda with a fork, until it is all combined.

  3. Add the dry ingredients to the pumpkin mixture and stir until it is just combined. You do not want to over mix.

  4. Fold in the chocolate chips.

  5. Spray two loaf pans with nonstick baking spray.

  6. Divide the batter evenly and pour into the two loaf pans.

  7. Bake at 350 degrees for about 45 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean when it is inserted.

Note: You can make this even healthier by using whole wheat flour instead.

Before baking...

Fresh out of the oven...

I love pumpkin bread and the tastes of the fall season! My boys get so excited when they smell this baking in the oven. There is nothing better!
