I love to make Christmas gifts for my friends! I think that homemade gifts are the best kind. Every year I give my friends the gift of "Christmas Cheer"...this Cranberry Orange Vodka. It has become a Christmas tradition with my dear friends and I. I absolutely love to make it, wrap it up in mason jars and deliver this special gift to my friends. 2020 has been a difficult year for most of us - so I think that everyone could use some "Christmas Cheer" this year! There is nothing better than a gift made with love! Make it your Christmas tradition too!
Homemade Cranberry Orange Vodka Recipe
(Makes 9 pints)
Ingredients:
1 (12 oz.) bag cranberries, rinsed
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
1 orange
Vodka - 1.75 liter bottle plus 5 more cups of vodka
9 pint sized jars
In a saucepan, cook the cranberries, sugar and water over medium heat.
Stir frequently until the sugar dissolves and the water turns a beautiful pink color. About 5 to 8 minutes.
Remove from the heat and allow to cool.
Get out your 9 pint jars and add a rounded 1/4 cup of cooked cranberries to each jar.
Evenly distribute the remaining liquid into the jars.
Take your orange and cut off nine sections from the orange rind. Make sure that you cut off as much of the white part as you can so it doesn't turn your vodka bitter.
Add an orange rind piece to each jar.
Top off each jar with vodka and put the lids on.
Now your Cranberry Orange Vodka is ready to give out as gifts!! Or to keep for yourself!
