Homemade Italian Bread Crumbs

Have you ever made homemade bread crumbs before?! They are the best! Trust me, once you taste them, you will never buy bread crumbs at the store again.


You know how I do not like to let anything go to waste. So making bread crumbs at home are the perfect way to use up stale bread, leftover rolls or the end pieces of bread that nobody eats. Homemade Italian Bread Crumbs are so easy to make and they will make all of your favorite bread crumb recipes taste even better! Give it a try!


Homemade Italian Bread Crumbs

Ingredients:

Any leftover bread, rolls or bread end pieces

Oregano

Basil

Garlic Powder


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  2. Tear bread up into little pieces and put on a cookie sheet.

  3. Bake at 350 degrees until the bread pieces feel dry and crispy, about 15-18 minutes.

  4. Put the baked bread pieces into the food processor in batches. Until bread crumbs are starting to form.

  5. Add basil, oregano and garlic powder to taste. (I had 6 cups of bread and used a about 3/4 teaspoon of each.)

  6. Pulse until the bread turn into finer crumbs.


Store in an airtight container in the freezer and use in your favorites recipes!
