Do you love to make fruit smoothies? Our house absolutely loves them! Fruit smoothies always taste better with frozen fruit. Especially on a hot summer day!
So many wonderful fruits are in their peak season right now! Take advantage of these natural and sweet flavors and stock up your freezer! Freezing fruit is also great for the times when you find a good sale on fruit. Load up! Or for when your fruit is ripening faster than you were planning. Freezing fruit couldn't be easier! Here is how...
How to freeze fruit...
Wash and dry your fruit. Of course you don't have to do this for bananas!
Cut up all of your fruit into small pieces.
Line a sheet pan with parchment paper.
Spread out your cut fruit into a single layer on the sheet pan. You want them spread out and not touching.
Cover the sheet pan with plastic wrap.
Put the sheet pan in the freezer overnight.
Take the fruit filled sheet pan out of the freezer and put the frozen fruit into a freezer Ziploc bag.
Put the fruit filled bag back in the freezer right away.
Freezing it this way on a sheet pan first keeps the fruit from freezing together into big chunks. My nectarines ripened so fast and I didn't want them to go to waste so I froze them to use later.
Now you will have fresh fruit in the freezer for whenever you would like it!
