Do you feel like your bananas go from green to brown overnight? Do you always seem to miss the timing for that perfect yellow banana? Here is a tip that will help you keep your bananas from ripening too fast...
When you get home from the grocery store, wrap a small piece of plastic wrap tightly around the stems of the whole bunch of bananas. Or even better - separate each banana from the bunch and wrap each stem individually with plastic wrap. As the banana ripens, it naturally releases ethylene gas. Putting the plastic wrap tightly around the stem keeps the ethylene gas from leaving the stem and makes the banana stay fresh longer.
