This is one of the first tips that I shared when I started "Kir's Quarantine Cuisine" back in mid-April. This is a very important tip that I wanted to share again to anyone who hasn't been following along since the very beginning.
My family loves salad! But there is nothing worse than having it going bad before you can enjoy it all. Paper towels to the rescue! The paper towels draw the moisture away from the greens, leaving them super crisp and fresh. It works great!
For boxed lettuce mixes, such as Spring Mix, open the lid. Then take a paper towel and place it on top and around the sides of the box. Close the lid and store the boxed greens upside-down in the refrigerator. It will last so much longer this way! Trust me!
For bagged spinach, lettuce and kale - open the bag and place a paper towel along the front and the back of the bag. Close the bag and store in the fridge. You won't believe how much longer the greens will last.
And for romaine and heads of lettuce - just wrap the heads with paper towels and place back onto the bag to store in the fridge. Storing it this way will keep your lettuce super crisp for your next salad!
Try this today! It is so nice not to have to throw away greens and lettuce anymore! I love this fresh tip!
