Pressure Cooker Grilled Barbecue Chicken Legs

May 25, 2021

Memorial Day weekend always makes me think of barbecues! When we have friends over I love to make barbecue chicken legs. It is always a hit - especially with the kids! Who doesn't love barbecue chicken?

I found that cooking the chicken legs first in the pressure cooker makes it SO much easier! When I used to just grill them, it took forever to fully cook. Now it makes entertaining so much easier! I just cook them ahead of time in the pressure cooker - so that I know that the chicken legs are fully cooked through. Then, right before dinner is served, we just warm them up on the grill with our favorite barbecue sauce and voila! Dinner is served! Couldn't be easier!

This would be a perfect dinner for your family's Memorial Day barbecue!

Pressure Cooker Grilled Barbecue Chicken Legs

Ingredients: 1 cup of water Chicken legs Kosher salt Pepper Garlic powder Your favorite barbecue sauce

  1. Season the chicken legs with salt pepper and garlic powder. Make sure that you season all sides.

  2. Put one cup of water into the pressure cooker and add a rack so that the chicken legs will be elevated.

  3. Add the chicken legs to the pressure cooker. Standing them up and layering them in a circle.

  4. Cook under pressure for 16 minutes and let the pressure cooker do a natural release.

  5. When you are ready to serve dinner, fire up the grill to a medium high heat.

  6. Add the chicken legs to the grill when it is nice and hot and baste with your favorite barbecue sauce.

  7. When the skin of the chicken leg starts to get nice and crispy, flip to the other side and baste with more barbecue sauce.

  8. Repeat this until the chicken legs are nice and crispy and full of that yummy barbecue sauce.

Place the pressure cooked chicken legs onto your grill and baste with your favorite barbecue sauce...

Wasn't that so much easier then standing over the grill? Trust me...you will only want to make them this way. They come out perfect every time and are a summertime favorite!
