Slow Cooker Turkey Breast

November 18, 2020

I love to cook a turkey breast in the slow cooker! It is so easy and it turns out perfectly everytime! It never dries out like it can when cooked in the oven. I love how you just put it in slow cooker in the morning and never have to worry about it again. This is a great recipe if you are short on oven space. Or if you want the delicious taste of a Thanksgiving turkey dinner without all of the work. Or if you need an easy way to cook more white meat for Thanksgiving. Your house will smell amazing as it cooks all day.

And be sure to load up your freezer with lots of turkey breasts when they go on sale after Thanksgiving! Gobble, gobble!

Slow Cooker Turkey Breast

Ingredients:

6 to 7 lb. turkey breast, defrosted

1/2 of an onion, skin removed

2 cups chicken stock

Kosher salt

Fresh cracked pepper

Garlic powder

Paprika

  1. Remove the gizzards from the cavity of the turkey breast.

  2. Place the onion half into the cavity of the turkey breast. This will help the turkey breast stand up well in the slow cooker and it adds a delicious flavor as well.

  3. Pour the chicken stock over the turkey breast.

  4. Season the turkey breast well with kosher salt, fresh cracked pepper, garlic powder and paprika. The paprika adds a great color and makes it look like it was roasted in the oven.

  5. Cook on low for 8 hours. Or until the internal temperature is 165 degrees.

  6. Remove the turkey breast from the slow cooker and place it on a platter or cutting board.

  7. Place a sheet of foil over the turkey breast and allow it to rest for at least 15 minutes. This helps to keep it juicy.

  8. Carve the turkey breast and enjoy with all of your favorite sides.

It is as easy as that! If you prefer a crispy skin, just place the turkey breast under the broiler for a bit after you remove it from the slow cooker. My family always removes the skin from their turkey so I serve it right from the slow cooker and it is delicious every time!

Once you try cooking a turkey breast in your slow cooker, you won't want to cook it any other way! It is so fool proof and is always amazing!
