Today I am catching up with the Masters and am having a Masters style Pimento Cheese Sandwich. As a mom of three hungry teenage boys, I only wish that I could find a place to eat that has the same inexpensive pricing as the food at The Masters! If you have never had pimento cheese before, you must give this creamy cheddar cheese spread a try. It is a classic! And we love it!
I dream of someday eating this classic sandwich at Augusta National. But until then, this is a Masters tradition for me!
The Masters Pimento Cheese Sandwich
Ingredients: 2 cups (8 oz.) cheddar cheese, shredded 4 oz. cream cheese, softened and diced 1/2 cup mayonnaise 1/4 tsp onion powder 3/4 tsp garlic powder Freshly ground pepper to taste 3 tbsp chopped pimentos, drained 1. In a mixer, whip the cream cheese and mayo together. 2. Add onion powder, garlic powder and pepper and mix. 3. Scrape sides down and add the pimentos and shredded cheese. 4. Stir with a spatula until the Pimento Cheese is combined well.
To make a Masters inspired sandwich, simply spread onto bread for an amazing sandwich!
Pimento Cheese is such a versatile food! There are so many delicious ways to eat it!
I love it on crackers, as a sandwich, or served as a dip with vegetables or even spread on a piece of bread, and placed under the broiler. Everyone always loves it!
There is nothing better than eating a pimento cheese sandwich while watching the Masters! They are a match made in heaven!
